7:59pm: across the universe- the movie
First off, belated birthday greetings to simons_flower & norafanatic. I give procratinators a bad name.

Now for the good bit, run (well not literally) to this website for the most AMAZING movie this year. Seriously, I haven't been this hyped up for a movie not from a book or starring Orlando Bloom in a long, long time. It's called "Across the Universe" and it does the impossible: makes Beatles' music even more awesome than it already is. I know the concept of this movie has been talked about ever since the very bad, yet still entertaining in that B-movie way, "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band"- The Movie. Finally it has been done, and it looks good. Go check out the website and squee with me.

7:29pm: sillyness & the Beatles
Am watching "Help!" At the beach scene/ music video for "Another Girl." Have just now noticed that Paul McCartney has a bubble butt. How had I not noticed this before? Right, never been a Paul girl.

In list format, no less

- Have seen "Walk the Line" and "Another Gay Movie." Both were EXCELLENT. The first was amazing for its acting talent & storytelling. The second, had me laughing the whole way through. It is unrated, to warn you all.

- We now have Vonage at home. So my home phone number will be changing. Will update with new number later.

- Have been watching the Beatles' Anthology on VHS. This has caused realization that all my Beatles' collection is on tape, either cassette or VHS. With the exception of Abbey Road, Sgt. Pepper's, and Beatles For Sale on CD. I need to upgrade.

- The Muppet Show, Season 2 IS OUT ON DVD RIGHT NOW! Go buy it so they'll put out more faster.

- Circuit City is open in Maryville, finally no more 50 minute drives to Knoxville (like I go all that often anyways, LOL).

- Internet was out last night until 5 minutes before I went to bed. And now we're switching to a phone service that relies on our cable ISP service. My parents, Pisces to the very end.

- I am trying to catch up on my flist. If there's anything really important, point me to it please. This includes fics/art recs, or movie recs too. I'm not picky.

Why I love “The Muppet Movie:”

1. No matter what kind of mood I’m in, this movie never fails to cheer me up.

2. “Drinks are on the house.”

3. I still cry when Gonzo sings his song in the desert.

4. “Myth! Myth!”

5. All the many cameos in the movie.

6. Running gag involving lost senses of direction.

7. The sillyness/zanyness/Monty Python-ness that is the brilliance of The Muppets.

8. 50 foot tall Animal.

9. “The fuzz, the po-lice, the P I….”

10. “Life’s like a movie/write your own ending/keep believing, keep pretending/we’ve done just what we set out to do.”

11. Orson Wells.

12. Dragonfly Ripple ice cream.

13. Gonzo in Bollywood. Bollywood (Bombay, India) even mentioned prior to America’s discovery of Aishwarya Rai.

14. “A bear in his natural habitat, a Studebaker.”

15. Mel Brooks as crazy, German scientist.

Will stop there as I am watching the movie right now. And felt compelled to type up a quick list of the many reasons I love this movie.


And why, WHY don't I have any Muppet icons? Travesty.
